Fischer Families!

August has just about come and gone as we start the third consecutive five day week of the 2026-27 school year.  We welcome September tomorrow.  September is Better Breakfast Month.  We encourage students to begin their day with a healthy breakfast.  September is also Attendance Awareness Month; this is a critically important time in which attendance habits are set for the year.  "Just showing up is half the battle."  I have been pleased with how not only students but also staff have shown up so far.  It's early yet, a marathon not a sprint, but these Falcons have been showing up!  Notable quotable:  "People may never hear what you believe, but they'll always experience how you show up." -Tom Murray

Congratulations to assistant principal Mr. Malveaux on the birth last week of his baby girl, Camden Lovie Malveaux.  Mr. Malveaux will return to work before October rolls around.  In the meantime, we have Mrs. Frost filling in for Mr. Malveaux.  We are lucky and grateful to have her come out of retirement to spend quality time with Falcon Nation.

Fall Sports are underway with an astounding 222 student-athletes participating.  I look forward to seeing you and your Falcon Pride at home contests.  Please note the following parent pickup times for fall sports contests that we host:

5:30pm for Cross Country, Flag Football, and Boys Soccer

6:00pm for Girls Volleyball

In addition to athletics, this week's highlights include i-Ready testing for baseline data in Reading and Math, family friendly Fischer Falcon Fest (Wednesday 9/2), school fundraiser kickoff, and a 3-day weekend on the horizon.  Mark your calendars too for Curriculum Night next Wednesday (9/9) evening.
