Book Club


Book club is a relaxed atmosphere where all students read a book, and then we meet to discuss, chat, and play games.  Students meet after school once a month on Mondays, from 3:05-4:00.  A permission slip is required to attend.  Feel free to join at any time!

Find Good Reads

Look at a teen librarian's Goodreads account, browse "Best Of" lists, and find other events being offered.  
Booklist Online has book reviews, award winners and honor books, and much more to help you find that perfect book.

Look here to join a book club or find another event to attend.
Teen Reads has reviews written by both regular teens and experts.  This is a great place to go if you can't decide on a book and need some guidance!  There are also cool links and fun activities.

Summer Reading

Who can participate?
Incoming 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students
What do I have to do?
Read three books over the summer and fill out the Summer Reading form.
Where do I turn in the form?
It can be brought to the Main Office over the summer.
You can give it to your ELA teacher once school starts.
When is it due?
August 29, 2020


Why do I want to be a V.I.P.?
When you are an LMC V.I.P., you receive the following:

The LMC student hours are from 7:45 AM-3:15 PM.  
Students need a pass when they come to the LMC throughout the school day.
Students can check out 3 books at a time for up to 3 weeks.  Books can be renewed as long as they are not on hold for another person. 
Students are responsible for lost or damaged LMC books, as well as textbooks.
