7th Grade Service Project: Project Linus

Reported by lanna_himes@ipsd.org on 4/17/17

Last month, our seventh graders started a service project to make fleece-tie blankets for “Project Linus.” Project Linus is a national organization which provides love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets. This is the second year our students have been involved in “Project Linus” thanks to a generous grant from the PTSA and the kind donation of one of the seventh grade TA’s, Rajni Sharad. This project allows the students to be involved in a loving and fun service opportunity which benefits children in our own community. Students have been busy making blankets every Wednesday during Advisory time and should have the project completed by the end of May. We are very proud of their participation in this service project.
